What do you do when you're off your mat?
I’m retired from the field I was in for about 25 years - point of purchase estimating and production. I currently enjoy making things in my workshop, outdoor activities and volunteer at my synagogue.

What brought you to Ahimsa for the first time?
I was taking a yoga class with Rachel Newman, who had recommended the classes here.

What's your favorite thing about this studio?
It is 1 1/2 blocks from my house.

What is your favorite type of yoga class (hatha, yin, vinyasa, etc.) and why?
Vinyasa, it tends to give me the most aerobic experience, after which the savasana is so welcome.

What's your advice for someone coming to yoga for the very first time?
Allow yourself to be open to letting yourself follow the instructions. After which you will gain control and confidence.

What has your practice given you?
I enjoy the focused movement & meditation.

What's your favorite pose?
Tree pose, when I’m successful.

What's your least favorite pose?
I don’t have a least favorite, some are just harder for me than others.

Tell us something unusual about yourself?
I’m becoming a pretty good bread baker.

What 3 words would a good friend use to describe you?
Kind, tolerant & compassionate.

What's your guilty pleasure/s?
Something sweet before bed time.

Have you made any changes in your life as a result of your yoga practice?
It has changed my view of who my community is. It has broadened it.

If you were having a dinner party and could invite anyone you wanted, who would they be?
My wife and two sons because I always enjoy being with them.
