AfroSoul Yoga with E’a Williams at Ahimsa

On Saturday, September 14th we hosted E’a Williams for an AfroSoul yoga class. The first thing about the class that was unexpected - no yoga mats! Everyone spread out around the room and E’a started with some isolated stretches and simple movements we would use for the African dances she would teach us. African music played over the speakers that made us want to move! E’a taught simple dance movements that we practiced and then moved across the room as a group while doing them. We put together 5-6 of the movements to make a dance, and finished up with a couple other exercises and a group stretch.

Class made us sweat a little bit, and mostly smile and laugh. We had a great time and we can’t wait to host E’a again!
